Super Challenge Baseball
Step up to the plate and hit a home run with M Network's Super Challenge Baseball for the Atari VCS. Designed for two players, the game lets each player control an eight-man team (there is no shortstop) through nine innings (or more) of big league baseball. Games ending in a tie require extra innings for a resolution.
When you step up to the plate, the timing on your swing determines whether or not you hit the ball. There are only grounders, so you cannot fly out, but you can bunt if you like. In the harder of the two difficulty levels, you control the lead runner and can have him steal bases. In the easier game, all runners, including the lead runner, automatically advance one base after a hit.
When on the mound, you can pitch inside, outside, or straight, and slow or fast. After the ball has been pitched, moving the joystick will alter its course. After the ball is hit into play, you have control over the fielders and can select the one nearest to the ball in order to retrieve it and throw it to a baseman, to the catcher, or to the pitcher's mound. ~ Brett Alan Weiss, All Game Guide
