Celes Chere

Celes Chere was one of the three high Imperial generals. After a while, she realized all the horrible things the Empire was doing and decided to leave. Because of this, she was labeled a traitor and imprisoned in a dungeon, where she awaited execution. Locke Cole, a member of the resistance movement called the Returners, found her by chance and rescued her as they both escaped together. Soon after, with no place to go, she also joined the Returners to get back at the Empire.

Professor Cid infused her with Magicite as a child, and she developed natural magical powers. As a result, the Empire hunts her constantly.
