Abacus Software, Inc. specializes in developing and publishing flight simulation add-ons. The company also publishes computer books concentrating on productivity titles. In the late 1980s, Abacus pioneered book/disk publishing by bundling the highly regarded book PC Intern with a ready-to-use diskette. Abacus was also one of the first publishers to move to book/CD-ROM publishing. Abacus is a privately held company based in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

For many years, Abacus worked closely with publisher Data Becker, GmbH of Duesseldorf, Germany. Data Becker has been the largest publisher of computer books in Germany and commanded a large share of the consumer software market there. ~ All Game Guide
