Village Books, along with a growing list of co-sponsors, is excited to announce a FREE community event featuring actor and human rights activist, Mike Farrell. Best known for his role as B.J. Hunnicutt on M*A*S*H, Mike has spent most of his life dedicating his time, name, charm, and intelligence to human rights activism, both nationally and internationally. He is the president of the San Francisco-based Death Penalty Focus, and is the former chair of the board for Human Rights Watch. This Bellingham event marks the kick off a brief tour celebrating the paperback release of his book, Just Call Me Mike . Mike will speak about his life as activist and actor, and engage the community about related topics of interest to the audience in this interactive event.
Prior to Mike's talk, there will be an information fair in the Church lobby that highlights the co-sponsoring organizations (listed below). Community members are openly encouraged to come early early to learn about and talk with representatives from human rights and social justice organizations in our community. Doors open for the information fair at 5:45 pm.
